ESL (English as a Second Language)

The objective of the program is to help develop the skills of English as a Second Language for those students having existing knowledge, training, and/or skills and to remove the English Language barrier, allowing graduates to utilize existing vocational skills.

The purpose of the program is to focus on development of listening, reading, writing, speaking (conversation), and grammar at all levels of the curriculum and to develop employment seeking skills necessary to compete in the existing market.

The approximate time for completion of the English as a Second Language program is thirty four (34) weeks.

Course Completion dates are subject to attending 18 hours a week.

Academic weeks are defined as actual weeks in attendance excluding holidays, school breaks, and inclement weather days.

History of Iverson Institute

Iverson Institute was incorporated as a proprietary school in July 1986. The school held its first classes September 2, 1986 and has grown from approximately 4,000 square feet in 1986 to over 16,000 square feet today. Iverson Institute, Inc. was sold to International Business School, Inc., doing business as Iverson Business School and Court Reporting (IBS) in August 2000. In February of 2003, Silicon Valley, Inc. purchased IBS. The school originally located in Arlington, Texas, and; established a branch campus in the Atlanta area of Georgia. Since 2003 the branch campus has grown steadily over the years overtaking the original Texas campus in population. In 2012 the Atlanta area campus was designated as the school’s main campus, changed its name back to the original name of Iverson Institute and relocated to 5522 new Peachtree Road, Suite 114, Chamblee , GA 30341. With this new location Iverson has more space for future growth and access to public transportation. The school is located in close proximity to Interstate 85 and 285 along Atlanta’s growing north east perimeter.
