You may also want to hop onto buses that will take you to Tegal bus station in central Denpasar. The journey will take about an hour. From here, you should be able to reach your intended location fairly easily.

By Bus - Most major cities in Java have direct bus services to Bali. These are quite cheap to purchase and widely available. However, the duration of the journey is quite considerable as many of these buses make numerous stops along the way. You may want to consider paying a little more for a luxury coach that will allow you to reach Bali in comfort as well as in record time.

By Boat - You can get to Bali via ferry from Ketapang, which is on mainland Java. The ferry service is reasonably priced, runs frequently and the journey takes only half an hour. There are also tentatively plans to have ferry services from Australia to Bali via the Timr Ferry service. If confirmed, this will be a convenient and interesting way to begin your Bali vacation.
