Family Culture in Asia

Family is extremely important in the Asian culture, with families maintaining a strong bond even after children are grown. This deep sense of family is intensified by the fact that children, when the grow up, rarely move very far from the location of their family, and generations of a single family often live in very close proximity, even in the same house. As a result, Asians have a deep respect for their elders as well as for family in general.

Family and Social Values in Asia
Family members are raised to have great respect, not only for those in their own families but also for others as well. In Asia, confrontations and arguments are looked down upon. If a confrontation does occur, Asians will do almost anything to smooth things over, including hiding their feelings, maintaining their silence, or even going to the point of telling “white liesâ€
