The Wonderul Underwater World in Singapore

Underwater World is Singapore most impressive oceanarium. It was opened in 1991 and has more than 25,000 marine animals and 250 species. In addition, its entire location is underground, offering tourists a better view of the underwater world. Check it out and see for yourself the abundant colors and the assortments of fish. Underwater world is also an exclusive attraction in Singapore were travelers will have the opportunity to find out more information about definite species in the area, but also around the globe.

The attraction has a 272 foot long travelator that literally moves visitors along a submerged point 24 inch thick acrylic tunnel. The tunnel is made of glass, so practically anyone will witness the array of fish swimming all over the place. They can view an array of marine life that includes coral reefs, moray eels, turtles, stingrays, and sharks plus other marine life. The oceanarium includes various areas to appreciate.

When you visit Underwater World, you ought to pay a visit to Dolphin Lagoon. At Dolphin Lagoon, you can see pink dolphins. These dolphins are Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins and during the day, they offer several sessions where you can meet the dolphins by entering the waist high pool; interacting with the dolphins is another engaging activity suitable for children who wan to have fun and appreciate their visit to such underwater paradise in Singapore.

There are numerous adventures offered to the visitors by Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon. Furthermore, they opened three new attractions on December 6, 2006 by adding an interactive pond, a fish reflexology, and a display of small marine life. The fish reflexology attraction is Singapore’s first fish spa. Some of the marine lives you can see at Underwater World are the coconut crab, spotted rag-tooth shark, all kinds of reef fish, sea stars, bamboo sharks, and lots more. It is a great place to visit to learn all about marine life. Suitable for families, couples and groups the experience will surely prove to be spectacular.

Underwater World provides visitors with an educational experiences, fun, and relaxation. The experience begins with shallow rock turtle and ray pools and the touch pool. The touch pool is where small sharks, turtles, and several fishes are waiting to be touched. Kids will be more than thrilled to finally touch some of their favorite animals, while for adults finding more about indigenous species will make them appreciate and value the entire oceanarium.

School visits are actively supported with educational programs. Some of those programs are living in the Ocean sleepover, the Ocean Ambassador, and hand-on Educational Fun Workshops. These programs encourage the understanding of the undersea life, fun learning, and the fragility of ocean life. Hence, students will have the chance to learn how to protect the underwater fauna and flora, and most importantly how to help it stay lively and prosper.
