Travelogue - Bali Indonesia, One of the Best Places on Earth
By:Karen Capino

If there is one thing Filipinos can boast of it is the Philippines' awesome beaches. So, Bali Indonesia's postcard perfect coasts don't completely seal the deal when it comes to luring a Pinoy beach connoisseur.

It's a good thing Bali, dubbed Island of the Gods, offer more than just golden beaches, ultramarine seas, luscious palm trees and blinding tans on bikini-worthy bodies. It is also a destination that showcases a dizzying and colorful Hindu culture; a pulsating hip art scene; and a hedonists' party island with an endless menu of extreme activities.

Bali doesn't mind if one is young or old; traveling as a family or a couple. It doesn't matter if the visitor stays here for the massages, the suntans, the hangovers, the culture or the waves. This hyper-active Indian ocean island enables everybody to get high on life.

TOP 8 BALI BETS

1. Going Hindu

While Indonesia is a Muslim country, the majority of Bali's population is Hindu. The Balinese are devout Hindus and this is reflected in their arts, fashion, culture and basic day to day routine. It is a fascinating image to see a Balinese on the street kneeling with a tiny basket of blue flowers in his asking for a blessing from Brahma.

2. Sunsets on a Sea Temple

Just as Catholics have magnificent cathedrals, Bali boasts of magnificent brick tatched-roofed temples often reflected in water or against cloudy mountain backdrops. The most famous is the Ulun Danu Bratan temple which is built on top of a cliff and offers the sight of the vast horizon and the azul Indian ocean. A large banyan tree welcomes you at the entrance.

3. Art Attract

Ubud is a small town In Bali that is flocked by artists, connoisseurs, writers, bohemians and other folks with an itch for creativity and beauty. The place with its quiet natural scenery and lively artsy vibe is a source of inspiration and relaxation. For serious shoppers, the town is a haven for people who want to buy handicrafts, garments, paintings, sculptures, bags, jewelry, furniture and more. The prices of these pieces are relatively cheap.

4. Dance dance evolution

There is so much dance and theater to choose from in Bali - you can see the the fire dance, monkey dance, trance dance, witch dance. These dance moves are skills passed on from mother to a child as young as 4 years old. The training needed to choreograph the eyeballs, fingertips, toes in an elaborate precision is an amazing thing to watch.

5. Surfer romance

If you like surfing or just like looking at surfers with six-pack abs then Kuta beach in Bali is the place to be. Professional surfers and beginners can find the perfect wave here. There are a lot of surf camps to choose from that offer surfing lessons complete with gears, a surfboard and local instructors with an amazing body and a lifetime of surfing. Husbands and dads must watch their girls closely as the surfers can be slick players. For the single women on the lookout for romance, enjoy!

6. Bunjy Jumping

Can you jump from a 150 feet tower? If so head over to the Double Six Night Club where you can find AJ Hackett's bungee outfit. Don't worry the company boasts of a 100 percent success rate. Just find guts first.

7. Fourhand massage

Four hands is better than two, or at least that's true for massages. Spa Hati Bali offers traditional Javanes massage done by two people. You can relax in hot tub while listening to frogs make noises at the rice paddy next to resort.

8. Partying

Bali is an infamously world renowned party beach so turn the heat up at the party strip in Seminyak where the famous Double Six Club is located. Or checkout Miami beach inspired club called Sunset On Six (or SOS) for the djs, roofdeck parties and beautiful people.
