How to Visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
By:Collaborator

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is one of the most visited memorials in the Washington, D.C., area. This memorial was built to honor those who have served or lost their lives in the Vietnam conflict. To pay tribute to these servicemen and women, visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

Visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at the National Mall. The National Park Service recommends that you rely on public transportation to get to the site. Street parking is limited, but you can find several paid parking garages.

Direct all inquiries to park rangers on duty at the memorial. These rangers are knowledgeable about the historical information surrounding the exhibit. They are available between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. daily.

Take a quiet moment to reflect at the memorial. You can pay your respects at the 3 components that make up the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. They include a wall of names, a Vietnam women's memorial and a statue of 3 servicemen and the flag. There are over 58,000 names listed on the wall at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. More names are added on Memorial Day if new names are reported.

Ride on a Tourmobile through the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and other area monuments and attractions. These guided tours take you through numerous Washington, D.C., tourist spots.

Use the facilities at the memorial. You can find restrooms and a bookstore with souvenirs near the site.
