Tips On Finding A Singapore Internship Online
By:Josh Sanders

Internship positions are golden. Finding the right one for you can be quite time consuming, hopefully with the following tips you will know how to go about this.

1) Do not mass mail out your resume and cover letter to every company in Singapore. Send an e-mail or contact someone within the company first and inquire if they have any internship positions.

2) Know what each company is looking for and customize your e-mail accordingly. Do not use just 1 standard e-mail and send it out to everyone. It would be good to show what is it about that particular company that attracts you.

3) Focus on the big picture. Most companies are looking for all rounded individuals. Having a GPA of 3.8/4 wont guarantee you anything .Most companies are looking for team players and interns that can get along well with their existing employees. Try to show some interest in learning about different cultures and any involvement in sports or charities etc. will look good on your resume.

4) If you have to send out an e-mail with your resume, don't just leave the body text of your e-mail with something very standard. People can tell if you are using the same text over and over again or if you have specially typed that out for that particular company you wish to intern at. Most people would rather read what you have to say in the e-mail before they decide if they want to view your resume, so use the body text in the e-mail wisely. This is your chance to "sell yourself" to the company.

5) Include a picture of yourself in your resume if possible. Most universities around the world such as MIT, are starting to ask for university applicants to place a picture of themselves with their application this is to give a "face" and a personality to the application. A simple passport sized picture should do, this will really give your potential.
