ESL Teaching and Learning Tips
Hi - Desperate for some suggestions for teaching Chinese primary students (grade 3-5), beginner level.
Main problem is, there are 70-75 students in each class, with fixed desks, no room to move.
No resource book or curriculum - just teach what I like they said! I make flashcards and stick to the blackboard. Due to the number of students, I can't copy hundreds of worksheets/flashcards for many of the games and activities I see on the internet.
There's a class computer I could use to play VCD's (need to buy them yet), but the sound doesn't always work...
The students are very energetic and I struggle to engage them. Most of the time they just 'play-up' and don't listen - very exhausting!
Any ideas would be much appreciated!
thanks
Kate
