Bryan gave you some great ideas and strategies to use with your ESL Students.
I definitely agree that using Reading Materials from both the Internet and the Local English Newspapers is a great way to teach Reading. Also, listening to the English News programs will help your students develop their Listening skills.
I might further add that you should encourage your students to read anything- even the English comics!!
A friend of mine who wrote for the Hispanic Syndication portion of the Los Angeles Times Newspaper spoke to a group of ESL students several years ago and told them the following: "Good Readers are good Writers and Good Writers are Good Readers."
Please encourage your ESL students to Read, Read and Read!!!
