Thank you very much for your post. I found this to be true about my time in the Czech Republic. It was a beautiful country to be sure and a good place to visit but teaching there for low pay was only part of the problem. Xenophobia, cold personas and hatred of foreigners was rampant and tiring (not to mention bad food). However, Europe is composed of vastly different cultures and societies and one really cant lump them into one category of Europeans. I found Poland to be a great place to teach English and the people welcome foreigners from English speaking countries much better than others Ive been to.
So far, I dont recommend teaching in the Czech Republic or Spain, as I found the Spanish hostile to foreigners as well. However, Germany and Poland seem pretty tolerant of foreigners and the pay is actually better. I can definitely sympathize with the last post. Its for that reason I find Asia a more pleasant and tolerant place to live than many places in Europe. Just my take anyway.
