Hi, this is my third year teaching in China. Hitherto I have taken out travel(health) insurance in UK while on leave in the summer. Now I find that the insurance (which previously cost about 150 GBP) is not available unless you have been resident in the UK for three of the last 6 months. Obviously this isn't possible during a 2 month break, though it can be obtained at a cost of about 550 GBP!

The possibility of lying did arise: but if push came to shove and I needed medivacing, they would go through things with a fine tooth comb and find out I lied.

So I thought I would sort something out while I am here, but that's not proving easy - Hey, this is China!

What do other Brits do?
