A friend of mine was in a wreck in China.
PICC is the insurance company dicking them around.
In China, if a foreigner is KILLED, the maximum payout is 600,000 RMB.
In this case, the insurance company offered them 5000 RMB on a claim, best guess, coming it around 750K with pain, suffering, lost wages,
medical bills, ambulance fees, ER fees, hospitalization, taxi fare to and from the hospitals and multiple specialists, etc.
PICC turned around and offered them 104 RMB PER DAY as "settlement" times many months.
This is despite video of the wreck, the driver admitting 100% fault, with many witnesses, police statements, all documents
notarized, etc.
So, now they are headed into court to sue the hell out of PICC and the other driver.
That'll be another 30-60 days for court hearings and still no resolution in sight.
Many schools in China, unfortunately, use PICC for their insurance carrier.
When you really need it, PICC will not be there for you, and in China, your claims are based on what Chinese people are worth.
My friend earns over 1,000,000 RMB per year there and had planned on leaving at the end of a contract when they were tied up
in the wreck.

Never teach in China.
Don't work for Communists.
Don't ever buy PICC coverage and if you already have it, get different coverage and drop your PICC ASAP to CYA.
