English schools in Latin America

Bolivia - Santa Cruz
School:Santa Cruz Cooperative School

Santa Cruz Cooperative School is a private American Overseas Day School offering English instruction by licensed and experienced English-speaking teachers to students between Pre-Kindergarten and 12th Grade.

SCCS is the only college preparatory school in Santa Cruz, Bolivia accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Bolivian Ministry of Education. These accreditations, held since 1987, lead to both American and Bolivian high school diplomas and ensure SCCS students study a curriculum that prepares them for entry into a university.

SCCS is situated on a seven-acre campus with two major areas: one for Primary Education and one for Secondary Education. Landscaped grounds and common facilities join the two areas.
On campus you'll find:

• Large classrooms w/individually controlled A/C

• Internet access in all classrooms

Our History:
Founded in 1959, the Santa Cruz Cooperative School was originally established to serve the children of the Gulf Oil Company personnel. In 1970, SCCS became the cooperative it is today.

Dramatic Expansion
The SCCS campus began a dramatic expansion in 1999. In early 2000, the pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade students began classes in the newly constructed Early Childhood Center (ECC). In August of 2004, a second building, the Primary Center (PC), was completed and now houses the 3rd through 5th grade classes. With the combined input of teachers, students, and parents, both new buildings are designed specifically for the learning levels of elementary students.

Library Media Center
In August of 2006, the SCCS Library Media Center (LMC) opened its doors to students for the first time. The LMC is centrally located on campus and provides a 480 sq. meter learning space with more than 25 computers and 15,000 books for students to conduct research, study and read. The continued improvement of the SCCS campus and facilities has been a constant goal for SCCS and providing students with the best resources possible has helped lead to their success in continuing education.

Experience
SCCS has 47 years of experience educating children in Santa Cruz using English curriculum. Our experience ensures your children study a curriculum designed to prepare them for undergraduate studies at colleges and universities around the world.
