Innovative Games for Business Meetings
By:Joey Papa

Difficulty: Easy

Using innovative games for a business meeting is a great way to grab the attendees' attention and help them to relieve stress from the day. Playing games at the beginning of a business meeting will help to set the tone for the meeting and will also provide a practical exercise that teaches important business skills. These games can focus on communication skills, critical thinking skills and leadership skills.Choose an innovative game to start your meeting off and then give a short nugget of truth the participants can apply to their work environment and job.

Numbered Game
Have the attendees of the meeting stand or sit in a circle. Have each person count off in order beginning with number one. The number the person calls is the number they are assigned for the game. Number "one" is instructed to call out a random number, within the numbers assigned. Once the first person calls out a number, the person assigned with that number must immediately call out a different number, and so on. If a person hesitates or doesn't call another number immediately, they a required to stand and move to the last number position, changing everyone's numbers. Start the game again and repeat until you feel that the point has been made.

Speed Interview
Use the speed interview game to provide a fun environment for the attendees to get to know one another. Have about a hundred questions printed and cut into small pieces of paper. Put them in a common place such as in a large bowl or jar in the middle of the table. Have the people pair up with the person next to them. Provide each pair with a notepad and a pen. Instruct the group that they will have one minute to ask as many questions and gather as many answers as possible. Once the timer begins, the interviewer has to grab one question at a time, ask their partner and write down the answer.Whoever gets the most answers in a minute, wins.

Height Objective
Everyone stands in a straight line. Instruct everyone to close their eyes and not to open them for any reason. Tell them that they simply have to line themselves up in order of height, but they can't use their sight or their words. Choose one person that has the ability to speak, but no sight. Allow the group to figure out how to accomplish the goal.
