What Are the Best Las Vegas Shows?
By:Mike Selvon

Las Vegas Nevada is known for its legendary entertainment. Concert goers can see rare vintage acts like Barry Manilow, Cher, Bette Midler, Tom Jones, Tony Bennett, Wayne Newton and Elton John. They can see Las Vegas shows of famous comedians, such as David Spade, Howie Mandell, Ray Romano, Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock. Magic fans can see the best-of-the-best with David Copperfield, Criss Angel, Sigfried & Roy and Penn & Teller. You can play The Price Is Right or walk the deck of the Starship Enterprise on some of Las Vegas's interactive sets or you can watch people get hypnotized, in both G-rated and X-rated environments. No matter what strikes your fancy, you'll find a tantalizing Las Vegas show.

Cirque Du Soleil has become synonymous with mystifying contortionists, surrealism-meets-theatre, mysterious music and superior lighting. The Bellagio Hotel is hosting "O," which is one of the best of all the shows in Las Vegas, blending an "aquatic tapestry of artistry, surrealism and theatrical romance," as the site explains. The Mirage has The Beatles LOVE performance, which celebrates the music of the Brit-pop band, along with imaginative acrobatic performers tackling mind-bending stunts in colorful costumes.

At New_York-New York, Zumanity (18+) blends erotic burlesque with acrobatic fun. Mystere at Treasure Island is probably the most kid-friendly of the Cirque shows, thrilling with high-power acrobatics, inspirational imagery and intriguing theatre. Lastly, KA at the MGM Grand Hotel is the hero's journey that is bound to impress audiences of all ages. The fall of 2008 will see Criss Angel pair with Cirque Du Soleil for his "Believe" performance, which is one of the best selling shows even though it has yet to open. Don't forget to get your Las Vegas show tickets!

Vegas hotels offer stupendous theatrical entertainment. The Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian Hotel is hands-down one of the best Las Vegas shows. Even if you've seen the movies before or listened to the CDs, there's just something inspiring and unforgettable about hearing an Andrew Lloyd Weber musical live. No detail was spared in the creation of the Phantom's $40-million, custom-built Opera House, with its rich red velvet seats and curtains, gold statues and carvings, hand-painted ceilings and Belgium-built mannequins.

While some of the speaking scenes were cut from the 3-hour version, all the songs will be in the 90-minute version. Even if you've seen Phantom before, the Las Vegas "Spectacular" version adds extravagant, custom-built backdrops -- a new Opera House facade with twinkling lights, an epic computer-controlled chandelier and state-of-the-art Las Vegas Nevada effects. Tickets can cost $100, but it's worth every penny.

Las Vegas shows come in all shapes and sizes, for all interests and age groups. There are, of course, a huge number of adult-themed shows, strip clubs and red light bars in the "city of sin." Bally's "Jubilee" is the best 18+ topless show with 1,000 different costumes (albeit skimpy ones), 8,000 miles of sequins and Swarovski crystal plated clothing. Singing, dancing and acrobatics complement this exciting adult show. Zumanity, a Cirque Du Soliel show, blends surreal fantasy and eroticism in a titillating way, making it one of the most popular selling performances in the city Las Vegas.
