It is apparent that we are experiencing what we call as the global crisis. The economies are down, the performances of the financial services companies are negative, companies here and there have been laying off, and prices of consumer goods are at its worst. These scenarios make us consider to leave our home country and start anew in a different place. This is actually feasible because amidst the global crisis, strong economic condition still exists in some parts of the world. In most cases, the presence of strong economies may be seen in small towns that allow us to find affordable homes and great schools for our children. Furthermore, there is a low crime rate in small towns. Why don't we take a look at some of the best places to live in the United States?

In Louisville, Colorado, the unemployment rate is only 6 percent. This town in the United States is considered as one of the best places to live because locals here are very down-to-earth and they know how to live a simple yet wonderful life. Schools in Louisville, Colorado are highly rated. It also has a near proximity to tourist spots such as several ski resorts that are considered world class and the Rocky Mountain National Park which is approximately an hour away from the town. The government of Louisville, Colorado offers low taxes and good health care benefits for its residents.

Chanhassen, Minnesota is one of the towns in the United States that was not instructed to go on recession. There are several job opportunities here, allowing it to have a very low unemployment rate. Those who are interested in purchasing property may do so in Chanhassen, Minnesota as there has always been an annual decline in property taxes. Moreover, the bond rating of this town is triple A. Chanhassen, Minnesota is considered as a best place to live in because of the small-town feel that lets residents feel that living a simple life is fun and wonderful. In this town, there are thirty four parks and eleven lakes. It also features the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum that measures 1,047 acres. Residents love the winter season as there are different types of fun activities being conducted in their town such as ice-fishing contests, hockey games, skating, and a carnival.

Papillion, Nebraska is another best place to live in. Its population is approximately 22,200 and based on surveys conducted on the best places to live in, Papillion, Nebraska always forms part of the top ten. In most cases, it even forms part of the top three. Job opportunities in this town are everywhere as stable companies are present here, including Con Agra, Union Pacific Railroad, TD Ameritrade, InfoUSA, Alegent Health, and Mutual of Omaha. There was a time when only few activities could be done in Papillion, Nebraska until its government started to fix this problem.

Now, it boasts of the Sumpter Amphitheater that allows residents and tourists to experience free wine tasting, concerts, and movies. A revitalization project is undergoing which includes a baseball stadium that is expected to be constructed in 2011.

Warren, New Jersey is one of the best places to live in the United States. Just like the other towns mentioned, there is also a low unemployment rate here, the houses are affordable, and its government provides benefits for its residents. In Warren, New Jersey, fields are not only used to play soccer games. It is also used to raise crops and cows. As a matter of fact, there are 72 farms in this town.

Indeed, these towns are considered as the best places to live in because it is obvious that life here is simple and slow-paced. Nobody is competing with anybody and as long as one has a job, financial problem is already not an issue.
