My Vacation in Atlanta
By:Joydeep Shankar Bhattacharya

Last summer I visited Atlanta, the most populous city in the state of Georgia. I was amazed to see the beautiful landscape, awesome locations and thrilled to experience the adventure parks there. I am a foodie so I enjoyed many types of food there and some of the foods were tasted by me for the first time in my life. Let me narrate the most memorable vacation of my life in Atlanta.

It was during the month of April that me and my family made a plan to visit the beautiful city of Atlanta. We booked our tickets and soon made our way towards Atlanta. There was a cab waiting for us outside the airport to take us to the hotel which we had booked earlier. We were extremely tired after the journey so we thought to take rest that day and planned our sight seeing the next day. We were amazed to experience such sweet hospitality by the people living there. The hotel staff and the people there were well behaved and cool.

The next morning we planned a trip to the Atlanta Museum popularly known by the name "Atlanta History Center". It was located in the heart of Buckhead. We saw different types of collections there which included Urban history collection, decorative arts and material culture collection, textiles and social history collection, civil war and military collection. I personally enjoyed the military collection the most. We also visited the Margaret Mitchell House and the Swan House Gardens and Grounds. It was an unforgettable experience and it educated us about the history and the traditions of the city.

We had planned a tour of seven days so we had four more days in our hand and we decided to visit as many places as we could. The third day we went to see the Georgia Aquarium. We had heard a lot about this place so we were eager to explore the place. It was complete water fun for us. We enjoyed "Dolphin Tales" and our journey with the Gentle Giants where we were allowed to swim with the largest fish in the world. My mother was afraid to swim so she skipped the event. We also enjoyed the 4D theater and the Ocean Voyager.

On the fourth day Six Flags Over Georgia was waiting for us. It had so many adventure rides in it that it was really impossible for me to ride each and everyone. Our first preference were the family rides and we rode Carrot Patch, Monster Mansion, Peachtree Square Sky Buckets, Thunder River, Toro Toro, Wheelie and Whistlestop Park Playground. All the rides were amazing and full of fun. Apart from these rides there were many thrill rides and I was the first one to enjoy all of those. Every ride was unique, the names of the rides were really creative. The rides were Acrophobia, Georgia Cyclone, Ninja, Sky Coaster, The Georgia Scorcher, The great American Scream Machine, Dare Devil and the Goliath. The day at Six Flags Over Georgia was really tiresome.

Now it was our time to go for some shopping in Atlanta and Underground Atlanta was the best place to fulfill this desire. The place was a paradise for shoppers. There were clothing, gifts, mp3's, Spa's etc. We got some clothing from the Athlete's Foot and purchased some gifts from the Aroma Paradise. My mother is fond of jewelery so she got some for her from the Glitters and the Gold Market.

We had only one day in our hand so we thought of trying some of the popular food and cuisines of the city. We chose to have a taste of the perfect American Cuisine ans therefore headed our way towards the Bluepointe which was popular for its American Cuisine. We tried two of its specialties which were Peanut Crusted Grouper & Wok Charred Rare Tuna Steak. Both the dishes were delicious to eat.

With that our six days of stay had ended and we now had only some hours left with us before it was time again to go to the airport to return to our native place. We though of resting that day and enjoyed some of the local specialties of the hotel that we stayed in. I with my brother went to the local market for some shopping. We bought something for our friends.

The trip that we made to Atlanta was an unforgettable one and I would suggest each and everyone of you reading this article to plan a vacation in Atlanta if you are in a mood to travel. My vacation was the perfect one and I hope your vacation would also be a memorable one.
