How to Visit California Vineyards
By:Collaborator

The northern area of California houses some of the best vineyards found in the country. Sonoma and Napa Valley are two of the most prolific areas in California for wine making. Staying in California wine country is an experience that no wine connoisseur should miss. Read on to learn how to visit California vineyards.

Find accommodations in the Napa Valley or Sonoma regions of California. Napa Valley has a beautiful spa and resort called Dr. Wilkinson's Hot Springs Resort. You can also stay in the outskirts of the area and rent a car to travel to the vineyards.

Sign up for a tour. Tour guides can transport you to several vineyards over the course of your vacation. Tours generally consist of both larger and smaller vineyards.

Visit vineyards that offer both tours and tastings. A tour and tasting combo allows you to see how the vineyard produces their wine as well as tasting their product. Vineyards don't usually charge for tours and tastings.

Buy a few bottles of a vineyard's wine. Many vineyards depend on the business from tourists. If you find a wine that you particularly enjoy, purchase several bottles.

Make time for shopping. The wine region of California has some of the most exclusive shopping in the world. You will not only find wines and wine accessories, but also designer clothing and delicious chocolates.
