By:Ron Brow

Las Vegas is famous for casino gambling, shows, and getting married. Weddings in Las Vegas can range from quick and cheap to grand and luxurious. Weddings can be based on the couple's hobbies, old country chapels, or in the large rentable rooms of the most popular casinos.

Planet Hollywood Wedding Chapel
The most famous type of wedding in Las Vegas is administered by an Elvis Presley impersonator. The Planet Hollywood Wedding Chapel is an historic location for such as wedding as Elvis himself was married at the resort to Priscilla Presley in 1967. The resort was known as the Aladdin at the time, but Planet Hollywood has continued the tradition. As Elvis's wedding ceremony was only eight minutes long, the wedding packages offered at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas are generally very short affairs, from a minimum of 15 minutes to a maximum of 30 minutes at the ceremony location. Various packages are available to customize the experience to the couple.

Graceland Wedding Chapel
While the Aladdin, now Planet Hollywood, was the physical location of Elvis's wedding in 1967, that location, along with most of the other structures in Las Vegas, was torn down and replaced. The Graceland Wedding Chapel has been in the same place as the same building for over 50 years. While Elvis was not married here, it is the site of the original wedding ceremony performed by an Elvis impersonator. The chapel is free standing, meaning not attached to any casino or hotel. The Graceland Wedding Chapel has been a choice location for celebrity weddings as well, as Jon Bon Jovi, members of Kiss, Def Leppard, and The Thompson Twins have been married here.

The Grove

Mount Charleston
Nevada's fifth-highest mountain is Mount Charleston is a short 35 minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip, and offers a contrast to the extravagance of the Strip. Pine trees and crisp mountain air give weddings a different feel, and the wedding parties are still close enough to the Strip to enjoy a bit of both worlds on their wedding day.

The Venetian
Gondola weddings are available at the Venetian Hotel and Casino. With replica's of Venice's canals, the Venetian not only provides romantic rides on gondolas, but also provides wedding ceremonies that can take place on the gondola.
