Oh no, Turnoi, you're dead right in your definition of racism and bigotry, but you missed the point of the earlier thread. I myself had been accused of racism and bigotry, that's what started this discussion.

You are dead right about the racism and bigotry of the Chinese people. What you described is something I heard many accounts of whilst in Beijing, and cannot really add to it.
In many ways I disdain the insular, Sinocentric, self obsessed nature of this country. I find it difficult to engage my students, even if they want me to play music, they say Chinese music, to which I reply that I only have Feng Huang Chuan Qi.

But that's just a small part of the big picture. Some of my students asked my opinion of the Earthquake in Japan, to which I replied that it was terrible, but they were positively gloating at it.

If these people can't bring themselves to the simple realization that WWII ended over 65 years ago, that the people killed in that Earthquake had nothing to do with what happened in Nanjing, then really, what hope is there for this country.
