The question mark can work perfectly well in this instance, although perhaps some early English learners should avoid such a construction because the intonation, the delivery, must be correct. It does need another puctuation before the dreaded question mark but that's not why you deemed it incorrect- I'll leave you to think about it. It's your fault for not reading it correctly. Anyway, we all when writing these posts leave out or incorrectly put in bad punctuation.
