Everybody knows about MORNING CALM. Avoid Morning Calm as if they were the plague! Apparently theyve been under investigation by at least two embassies for about 6 months that I know of. They also wrote me directly as I made an application to them and theyh told me one thing, while they told another applicant (my friend) something about the same school, totally different. Wages, hours, ages of students, housing, visa, airfare, and more, one big whopping lie after another. Get smart, fish around, and soon you will see, the entire world of ESL is one big game. Now and then you get lucky and find a great job that you will love. But overall, those days are long gone.
Natalia Kim likes to blame things on "communication" or "cultural" differences. Minor things mostly. Such as 40 hour work weeks versus 25 hours, or 1.8 million won versus 2.7 million won. Paid housing, actually means that YOU PAY for it, nothing too serious. Just any and all information that is essential and required to make an informed and educated decision regarding employment.

Just would like to inform you of a dodgy recruiter in Korea named ETIK. They have had numerous instances and a reputation for not inspecting the schools they send teachers to. Contracts are not as promised and if a teacher does have a problem, s/he is left all alone to be taken advantage of by a devious school owner or director. They have been repeat offenders and are definitely ones to be careful of. Make SURE you demand to speak with at least 2 of the foreign teachers at the school you are applying to through them and d NOT sign any contract until you have someone look it over if you are not sure of some things.
