It's interesting that you make the point about there not being much discussion about public institutions on this board. It would appear there is almost always an open thread on a university somewhere in China not to mention that arguably the most active poster on this site works at a public school and has posted extensively regarding his experiences there.

You claim to have worked at several institutions across the country as well as having a large amount of experience across the globe but as i understand it you don't currently teach in China and the majority of your recent past has been spent working on a different continent. I'm interested to understand what makes my views i.e. the views of someone who is currently working at ground level in China, any more or less superficial than yours?
