Actually, there's that many foreign women teaching in Shanghai, that it is probably still easy for most male teachers to get a girlfriend. OK, they aren't professional women as much as fresh out of uni or the female equivalent of the stereotypical male English teacher, maybe. There's a lot of sleazy worthless shithead loser men, but don't all women moan about that everywhere? It actually appears that most foreign women find it hard to date local men, so will still go mainly for foreign guys.

Apparently, if you are just after a one night stand though, using Tinder is ridiculously effectively in Shanghai, these American girls that I was talking to, were raving about it. Downloaded it out of curiosity but it's no use around my parts due to the lack of users, but the idea of the app is pretty amazing because it only lets you chat to birds that like you. I'm not going to use it properly because I actually love my girlfriend and don't want to cheat on her, but if I was single and in Shanghai... Oh yes.

Accidentally swiped for 'like' on girl the other day and got a match pretty quick and I was playing around with it in the middle of nowhere in Jiangsu whilst travelling, had to delete the app very quickly before my missus found it on my phone and got the wrong idea, lol.

Tinder must be amazing wherever there's a really big foreign community, but it will never get big around Chinese people due to the requirement for a facebook account. Shanghai's different because a lot of local girls have loads of foreign friends, get a VPN, get on facebook, speak fluent English and like to date people from all around the world. There's quite a few of them on Tinder in Shanghai apparently.
