Re: You appear to be slightly uninformed - ESL school review

You must be very careful when looking for an ESL job in China. After my bad experience this year I would always go visit the school at my own expense just to see the teacher's living quarters and meet the people involved in hiring me. This year I was promised an apartment upon my arrival and was decieved right up till arriving in the airport of a strange city and the wai ban told me, "We're very sorry, you will have an apt. in one month". Which of course was a lie. I was forced to live with a teacher from another country who wanted to "practice her English", but really couldn't speak it. I didn't know what to do as they had my visa and I wasn't familiar with the city. The college has been a nightmare, no communication, bad work conditions, and many lies. But their advertisement, looked great and it still does. I will be preparing a review of this school soon. I will say if I had been smarter and taken the time to visit, I wouldn't have proceeded as I would have been suspicious due to their extreme politeness and smiles with no direct answers.
