I like your posts very much, they don't pull any punches, and you've got a good knowledge of the way Chinese culture works, unlike some laowai posters on the board who would have the rest of us believe otherwise.
I think you're aware that Chinese girls who were born with a silver spoon in their mouth are groomed by their excessively rich parents. That's because mother and father are looking for suitable husband material for their badly spoiled empresses. Here, I think we can specify suitable husband material as boys who are from equally rich parents, if not richer ones. When a match has been arranged, the lucky young suitors will be allowed to become boyfriend and girlfriend by their prospective inlaws-to-be. The girl will probably be around 17 years of age, and the boy 18 or 19 or 20. You can bet it'll not be long before the two of them are indulging in the sins of the flesh. The boy will already have a spacious apartment in his name, bought for him by his parents. The richer the girl, the less naive she'll be, and the less likely she can be tricked into losing her cherry, especially to a foreigner. I taught one such privileged 17 year old boy some years ago. He did not treat his prescribed girlfriend well, though they had slept together, once a week, actually. He was a regular visitor to the red light ditrict, where he was well serviced by hookers. He said they were better in the sack. However, that didn't stop him from marrying his girlfriend eventually! Have you heard of this kind of thing? I'd expect it's not news to you.
