I think Oldtefler meant 'any very attractive or outstanding woman' when he used the word 'princess' in that particular sentence. It doesn't necessarily mean what you have presumed it to mean. As you undoubtedly know, the context in which the word is used predominates when it comes to choosing the meaning of a word that has > one meaning!
