Potential teachers.. Ponder this..

John Makes a very presumptious post, instead of asking questions he makes conclusions without answers.

In Fact, "John" for Guangzhou short term summer programs of 6 months or less only require an F visa for guest lecturers coming from abroad, and YES half of most of us had Z visas already.

I have been teaching in China for more than 6 years. You fail to see the point at all that a contract was signed months in advance and the school not only broke its agreement but was deceptive in its practice to recruit talent from abroad. Every school tries to recruit from a pool of qualified candidates within China, but the reality is that many schools and programs recruit from abroad and offer short term summer programs.

Within the context of this short-term summer program is where people were decieved.

For anyone reading the original post, you should gather one important point. This school will not follow its agreements and will be deceptive in its practice of employing you.

John, your points would be valid if it were to apply to long term teaching, but summer programs are an entirely different animal and almost everyone working in china or having done these types of programs would be able to tell you that.
