How to Reach Your Goals the Joyful Way
By:Paula Owen

Sometimes we are faced with doing things we would rather avoid doing. If these things help achieve your end goal – it is necessary you do them. Adopt a positive attitude as best you can and concentrate on your goal being completed.

Occasionally doing things we don’t like is simply a part of life. It is not OK if you are doing things you don’t enjoy a lot of the time. For example if you are doing a job you really despise. The unhappiness you feel will take over other parts of your life.

The truth is, when you feel unhappy doing things – reaching your goals actually takes longer. When you feel joyous and excited about what you are doing the time it takes to get there is shorter.

There are many routes to the same goal. So it is definitely worth finding a path you truly enjoy. This doesn’t mean you need to enjoy every little detail all the time. But you should enjoy what you are doing most of the time.

In the short-term it may seem enticing to look for an easy way. Be aware that this may not always work out in the long run. There could be consequences down the road you had not anticipated.

If the route you have chosen goes against the accepted social norms, it does not matter. What matters most is doing whatever works for you.

So in a very general sense ignore what is socially “right” and “wrong” and do what works for you. Nobody else can be the judge of this except you.
