The power of positive thinking can really change the world around you even if it seems like the world is against you. There is a silver lining to every dark cloud and part of positive thinking is finding the good things in the worst situations. It can even be harder to achieve if you surround yourself with negative people. Sometimes it is not your choice.

I was raised in a negative environment. I was the youngest child who just never seemed to capture the attention of my single mom. Every milestone in my life while I was under her wing was always shot down instantly with nothing but negative comments. I would come home with straight A's on my report card and her response would be, "Straight A's do not keep the bullies away do they?" I never quite understood this mentality. I was always happy for anyone that achieved any goals. As I got older I started to understand where all of this negativity was coming from.

When I was eighteen, I got my first car with a payment. I had done it all by myself. I did it with positive thinking. I walked into the car lot knowing exactly what I wanted and what I wanted to pay. I knew that I was going to drive off that lot with my own car. I was positive. When I got home, I called my older brother to share my enthusiasm. I told him that I had just gotten a new car and his response was, "You will never be able to make the payments." "I give you one year until it is repossessed." I could not believe what I just heard. Right then at the very moment I suddenly understood why so many people were so negative to me my whole life. It was that green eyed monster known as Jealousy. It is the root of most negative comments from anyone. I was one hundred percent positive that was the cause of all of this negative energy.

You must put up a shield against this negative energy and knowing where it is coming from is the first step. Once you realize the source and the cause then separating yourself from it is easy. The power of YES is far greater than the power of no. Remember you are in control and you choose to let this negativity have an impact on you. Positive thinking will lead you on the higher path.
