first man in the world to fly under a jet-fitted wing
By:up
Swiss pilot Yves Rossy, the first man in the world to fly under a jet-fitted wing, speeds through the air to perform a looping in Bercher, western Switzerland, Friday, Nov 5, 2010. Rossy has completed two aerial loops using his custom-made jet-propelled wingsuit. Rossy jumped from a hot-air balloon above Lake Geneva and performed the daredevil stunt before landing safely with a parachute. (AP)
Rossy developed and built a system comprising a back pack with rigid aeroplane-type carbon-fiber wings with a span of about 2.4 metres (7.9 ft), powered by four attached jet engines modified from model aircraft engines. (Wikipedia)
