Alternative Fuels For Vehicles
By:Steven D. Foster

While driving your 2009 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, you suddenly notice a large billboard on the road that says "For better fuel, Use Alternative Fuel and Save Mother Earth", Although, you're the type of person that can afford to buy gas at any price, and strongly believes that alternative fuel is the same as any kind of fuel in the market. You really don't care whether or not your car is very high in fuel consumption, it does not matter. But the words "Save mother Earth" made you a bit interested, and eventually urged you to know more about the subject of alternative fuels.

Before we ever used and discovered gasoline as a fuel for our engines, it was simply a treatment against lice. But nowadays gasoline is considered to be one of the vital movers of our economy. The price of gas is very fragile. A sudden increase of cost can be harmful to our market and economy.

The pollution that is released from gasoline consumption is the major contributor of green house gasses, and also is the number one causes of global warming. Knowledge about alternative fuel is very important for every person.

What is Alternative Fuel?

For better fuel, we may have heard about alternative fuels recently, and probably believes that it is a newly introduced commodity that is readily available in the market. What we don't know is that alternative fuels have been around for years. Alternative fuel generally comes from resources other than the regular petroleum. Some are produced locally or imported from foreign countries, while others are harvested from renewable resources that are more beneficial for our environment. These alternative fuels can actually give out less pollution than a regular gasoline or diesel.

Alternative fuels are also used to power different types of vehicles, and are also accessible in the market. Today, you can purchase them in gas stations, or from a variety of establishments. For better fuel, here is a list of alternative fuels:

• Hydrogen: It is the most abundant chemical element in the world. It consists about 75 percent of the earth's entire elemental mass. Hydrogen is created from fossil fuels, nuclear power, and renewable resources specifically by hydropower. When using hydrogen as a fuel for our vehicles, it releases no pollutants in the air that can be detrimental for the environment. A hydrogen car is the common term for vehicles that uses hydrogen to power their engines.

• HHO: is generally water that is used to fuel cars. It is one of the most popular issues discussed about when it comes to alternative fuels. HHO practically powers your vehicle with water.

• Biodiesel: this alternative fuel usually comes from animal fats or vegetable fats. It is a fuel for diesel engines, which can also emit lesser air pollutants.

• Natural Gas: is a gas that generally consists of methane, it is also a fossil fuel that produces less green house gases.

• Ethanol: this gas is harvested and is made from corn and other kinds of crops.

• Propane: an alternative fuel that is more common and popular in households and kitchens. It is also known as (LPG) liquefied petroleum gas and also generates less green house gasses.
