You should perhaps look for English teaching jobs in Japan, Korea, Brunei or the Middle East. All other countries pay less for simple ESL teaching jobs; it is not a career, really.

I'd disagree strongly here - it is a career if you approach it as a career. The only difference is there's a less defined "career path" and those who stay in the profession long term tend to carve out their own path and develop it alone. Perhaps TEFL is more for individuals than corporate types.

As for finding work paying 2,000 a month it is possible but you'll need experience under your belt. I would say the easiest way to make the move is to have your husband teach also - at least at the beginning - so you have a decent income and can support the family.
