Hi, im a native English speaking and considering doing a TESOL or similar course and teaching abroad.

I have no degree which I am aware means I would not be able to teach in a number of countries, including the country which would be my number one choice - S Korea.

After doing some research it seems that there are a number of South American countries which do not require a degree to teach, such as Ecuador.

If I were to teach for a year in, for example Ecuador and gained experience then presumably this would count in my favour in applying for jobs in Korea or even back in the UK rather than having a degree. Is this correct? Are schools likely to take me on with a year or two experience but no degree?

Also, on a separate note, what are schools like in the South American countries for employing non-native English speakers (with a fairly high standard of English) who hold both degrees and TESOL or equivalent certificates? I realise it does depend on the level of English but I was wondering if the schools would just completely say no to non-native speakers.
