My opinion is that you should go home. I was recently back home in Australia for six weeks, and it is a two-speed economy there at the moment. Unless you work in the mining sector in WA ( around the Pilbara and Kimberley region ) or in the Perth construction sector, there is not much work right now. Brisbane construction sector is slowing down, the big inner city projects (111 Eagle St, and Soleil) are almost complete, apart from Airport Link. Only one big tower under constuction in Brisbane at the moment. The touism and retail sector in QLD is also in a slump, and the floods didn't help that.

Gold Coast construction market is almost dead, nothing new coming online in the near future. Tourism and retail is also dead in the water on GC. Sydney is also in a moribund state, and the change of NSW government in March seems to have made no difference.

If you want work in Oz, look in Melbourne or Perth. I think you will not get a job in Japan with no degree. You need a degree there.

Go to China maybe, but only if you can get a public sector job. Sorry to be so pessimistic about my home country right now. Australia's " bulletproof" economy is suffering a gunshot wound right now!
