The City - Alcamo, Sicily
Alcamo is situated on the northwest coast of Sicily, between Palermo and Trapani, on the Gulf of Castellammare. The coast is clean with a clear sea and sandy beaches. The coastline is rugged with high mountains. Alcamo itself is located on the foot of a mountain and is only 6km from the sea. The Gulf has many tourists in high season. Nearby there is also the nature reserve of "Lo Zingaro" with its beautiful bays and underwater caves. Scopello is another small town nearby.

Alcamo has around 50,000 inhabitants. The town is picturesque and the area is safe and quiet. Alcamo is in the "Strada di Vino" (Wine road) and is famous for its wines. There are many bars for you to relax in after a hard day's training as well as lots of restaurants and pizzerias for you to sample the gastronomic delights of real Mediterranean cooking! All in all Alcamo gives you a feel of the "real" Italy.
