The Kingdom of Thailand is known as the Land of smiles, fine silk and golden Buddha. Thailand is situated in the heart of Southeast Asia with Bangkok as the capital city. It shares borders with Cambodia to the east, Laos to the northeast, Myanmar to the west, and Malaysia to the south. Thailand is as the gateway of Southeast Asia, draws more visitors than any other country as is Thailand is the only country in Southeast Asia never to have been colonized by a European power. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty complemented by impressive architecture, including striking temples. The country is also well known for its appetizing food and the people are renowned for their friendly manner.

The official language, spoken by almost 100 percent of the population, is Thai. Chinese and Malay are also spoken in some areas, while local dialects are common in rural communities. English is widely spoken in Bangkok and other major metropolitan areas.

In order to raise the quality of foreign teachers in Thailand, The Ministry of Education has set TESOL as a requirement for legalization and certification for teacher in Thailand. In order to teach in Thailand, it is required that you receive the Teacher’s Certificate issued by the Teachers’ Council of Thailand. To meet the new requirements of the Ministry Of Education and to help raise the quality of teachers in Thailand, AYC has recently opened a TESOL Training School in a prime area of Central Bangkok.

It’s extremely important that your certification is accredited. Without accreditation, the certificate is not worth the paper it is printed on. This course has been accredited by the leading UK accreditors; QCA, QAA, and ODLQC. Additionally, our TESOL course is done in partnership with “American Cultural Association” (www.americanculturalassociation.com). INTESOL has been delivering TESOL courses for more than 17 years, and has branches around the world. The American Cultural Association is the world’s largest language school network. Since we have these accreditations and partnerships, the AYC TESOL course will give you more opportunity for employment and enable you to negotiate a higher salary. After one year you will have earned back the money you invested in your TESOL course. For successful graduates of our TESOL course, we are able to offer placement in our ELEP (English Learning Experience Program). Currently, there are 120 foreign teachers in more than 50 schools. Due to our increased success and high standard of quality, next year we are expanding our team to around 250 teachers for placement in 80 schools.
