Khanom TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate has become a recognized qualification all over the world and in Thailand, where the demand for better-qualified teachers has increased in the last few years, a TEFL certificate is almost a prerequisite for English teaching posts. By attending our 4-week intensive TEFL course, you will have the opportunity to explore the internal structure of the English language, as well as the methodology of teaching and finally obtain a TEFL Certificate. Having a TEFL Certificate demonstrates your ability to teach English as a foreign language and therefore your job prospects will be increased.
At Khanom TEFL, once you have successfully completed our 4-week TEFL training program and have obtained a certificate, we can offer help in finding a teaching position in Thailand and other SE Asian Countries. In case there are no available positions on graduation, we will send your résumé to a number of schools in Thailand, together with a reference from ourselves. We also assist our graduate as much as possible with leads etc. until a suitable teaching position is found.

Our TEFL Course Content
The following TEFL course topics are covered in our course:
• TEFL Lesson Planning and preparation. Understand the purpose and principles of planning for effective teaching of specific groups of learners. Plan logically sequenced lessons that are appropriate to the needs of the learners. Evaluate own lesson preparation before and after teaching through reflection and by taking note of comments from tutors, colleagues, and learners
• Current TEFL Teaching Methodologies
• Materials writing. Understand the need for and begin to put into practice the adaptation of resources.
• An overview of Asian students’ attitudes to EFL and Asian culture. Identify some significant differences between English and a foreign language. Demonstrate in practice an understanding of the relevance of some of these differences for the teacher and learner
• How students learn language
• Roles of the teacher, learner and materials
• Teaching in Asia and a foreign language learning experience
• Student needs analysis
• Identification of potential student problems
• The nature of language. Basic concepts and terminology used in ELT to discuss language form and use. Rules and conventions relating to words, sentences, paragraphs, and texts
• Observation of qualified and experienced teachers
• 6 hours of observed teaching practice (with 6 optional hours)
