Abriendo Mentes is a community development initiative that empowers rural Costa Rican communities by providing educational,technological and social programs to those who need it most. We offer four innovative programs to the youth and adults of Playa Potrero, Costa Rica: Youth Development, Adult Education, Women's Empowerment, and a Technology Center; in an effort to enhance education and "open minds".

If you are looking to volunteer in Costa Rica, Abriendo Mentes has endless opportunities available. From teaching English to grant writing, web development and art activtiies, there are many ways to get involved with one of our volunteer programs. Over the last three years, more than 100 short and long term volunteers have been able to make a positive impact in the communities of Playa Potrero and Brasilito.
