About Changchun
Changchun is the provincial capital of Jilin province in the beautiful northeast of China. Close to Russia, Mongolia and Korea, it is a great launching point for travelers; Beijing is just seven hours by train or about an hour and a half by plane. In spite of a growing population of nearly 8 million, the people in Changchun are extremely friendly. Moreover, it is very safe for foreign teachers and a great place to live and work. The air is refreshingly clean and the low cost of living means teachers can enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. There are plenty of green spaces and parks; with Nanhu Park in the centre of the city, Changchun World Sculpture Park in the south, and Jingyuetan Park, the largest man-made forest park in Asia, Changchun deserves being listed as one of China’s “National Garden Cities". Outdoors enthusiasts can go skiing, snowboarding or skating in winter. Changchun is also famous for being the last home of Pu Yi, the last Emperor of China.
