Job Opening: Full-time TESOL Instructor at Chongqing University

2016-2017 ACADEMIC YEAR

The School of Foreign Languages and Cultures at Chongqing University (CQU) is accepting applications for full-time TESOL instructors for the Fall Semester, 2016.

CQU is ranked 28th out of 2,236 universities and colleges in China. It is highly ranked in Engineering, Technology, and Business disciplines. At present, CQU has 28 Schools, a graduate school, the City College of Science and Technology, the College of Continuing Education, and the College of Networking Education. Position: TESOL Instructor
Contract: One academic year renewable based on performance;
Hours: 16 hours per week on average;
Duties: Teaching listening/speaking English courses for undergraduate students;

Attending meetings, participating in peer observations and professional development workshops;

Salary: 6,000, 7,000, or 8,000 RMB per month depending on experience and degree

Allowance: 2,200 RMB per year for travel allowance;

Vacation:Paid vacation, plus public holidays;

Housing/Utilities:1,000 RMB per month rent, paid by the University, for a furnished two-bedroom apartment for those who reside on Campus A or D. Housing on Campus D is a ten minutes walk from the university;
4,400 RMB per year for telephone, internet,water, gas and electricity;

Medical: 800 RMB provided by the University per academic year for basic clinic treatment:
1,200 to 1,500 RMB medical insurance premium for in-hospital treatment expenses in China will be provided by the University;

Language: Chinese language training provided at no cost by the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures;

Orientation: Orientation to Chongqing and the University provided;

Airline Ticket: Round-trip airline ticket reimbursed at the end of the contract.

Desired Qualifications:
MA or higher in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, English, Education, Communication or related fields, or equivalent education/research achievement.

Minimum Qualifications:
BA in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, English, Education, Communication or related fields with 3 years or more of teaching experience in higher education.
