Deerfoot College is located in historic Fort Macleod, Alberta Canada in sight of the magnificent Rocky Mountains and close to Waterton National Park, itself part of the famed Glacier International Peace Park. Fort Macleod is a town still bearing remnants of its Old West heritage. It features Main Street, the Empress Theatre (the oldest continuously operating facility of its kind in Alberta) and the Fort Museum which presents a history of Native Canadians, the Northwest Mounted Police (the “Mounties”) and the early settlers from elsewhere in Canada. A short drive away is the World Heritage Site, Head Smashed-in Buffalo-Jump, an archaeological site and interpretative center which includes one of the great museums of the world.

Students are placed into 1 of 7 levels based on their performance on the CESLA placement exam.
Level 1: Beginner
Level 2: Beginner High
Level 3: Intermediate Low
Level 4: Intermediate Mid
Level 5: Intermediate High
Level 6: Advanced
Level 7: Advanced High
Listening Levels 1 and 7:
DFC listening classes help students develop their listening skills using a wide range of listening techniques, such as: listening for the main idea, detailed information, filling in tables, recording information, educational speeches, movies, and TV programs.
Student development is evaluated daily with a listening comprehension test. An overall score is presented at the end of each week.
Our listening and conversation courses are developed for students who need to further improve their listening and speaking skills.

Deerfoot College offers students a unique opportunity to study English in an exclusive private environment. It provides living accommodations, meals and ESL courses in a spacious and historical setting. The College is equipped with a computer lab, with free high speed internet access available 24 hours a day, classrooms, four bedrooms (each with private bath), and all meals, prepared by an experienced chef.
