Intensive English Program for Asian Students

For 15 years, McGill Summer Studies and the English & French Language Centre of the Faculty of Arts have been hosting talented and motivated undergraduate students in the Intensive English Program for Asian Students.

This program is specifically designed for international students with some proficiency in written English who want to improve their listening, comprehension and oral communication skills.

While at McGill, students are given the chance to perfect their English and learn about Canadian culture in the classroom and beyond. Students attend classes in the morning and participate in language workshops and cultural activities during the afternoons. Members of the staff and native speakers accompany the students on the many and varied social and cultural activities that follow each day's academic work. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in an optional Homestay weekend with a local English speaking family. These language-building activities are an integral part of the program, and effectively allow students to practice their English in a wide variety of settings. Students complete the programme more confident in their ability to communicate in English.

The ranking also classes McGill as North America's best public university and the only Canadian university ranked among the world's top 30. Ten other Canadian universities made the top 200, four of them for the first time this year.
