Language Exchange International was founded in 1983 in order to provide language training for adults who were looking for a painless but effective way to quickly acquire a second or third language.

We offer courses in more than 30 foreign languages as well as a year round intensive ESL / ESOL program for international students and executives. Students studying in our English programs come to LEI to improve upon their language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. During the past twenty years, we have enjoyed an outstanding reputation in our field due to our unique conversational approach to language teaching. The methodology we use is based upon one developed by Connie Paladino, the school’s president and founder, during her 35 years of experience in the field of language instruction. Florida's consistent sunny weather is the perfect place to learn languages year round. Orlando's many theme parks, the NASA Space Center, Florida Everglades, and the Florida Keys are located only a few hours away from our campuses. Whether our students are learning ESL / ESOL (English as a Second Language) or foreign languages, their experience at our schools is as enjoyable as it is effective.

In addition to our varied language programs, we also offer a professional translation and interpretation service in more than 50 languages. We are happy to provide quotes at no charge.

Boca Raton main campus, located on Florida's "Gold Coast" in the exciting Fort Lauderdale / Palm Beach area, is walking distance to the South Florida's best kept secret, Boca Raton Beach.

The school's main campus is situated in a one-story building in a lovely tree lined plaza with fountains and plenty of free parking. The school's proximity to wonderful shopping centers, excellent restaurants and numerous cultural activities, make it a prime location for studying English. Our campus is a half hour away from the bustling cities of Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. A short distance away is South Florida's public train system, the Tri-Rail. Located about 55 miles from Miami airport, Boca Raton has a population of approximately 70,000, a year-round sunny average temperature of 77 degrees F° (22° C). Know for its charming beauty, Boca Raton has all the advantages of a big city, yet has a charming small town atmosphere. It is a safe friendly town that is gaining popularity as a much preferred and desired destination for international students.

History
Boca Raton has a long and interesting history, having been settled in 1896 when Henry Morrison Flagler's Florida East Coast Railroad passed through for the first time. It was during the 1960's, however, that Boca Raton began to boom. Florida Atlantic University and a new IBM manufacturing plant sparked rapid growth. Numerous other high-tech industries and corporate headquarters soon followed.

Boca Raton boasts a variety of extra-curricular activities such as tennis, golf, swimming, boating, canoeing and water skiing. In addition, Spanish River and Gumbo Limbo Parks are walking distance from the school. Located on the Atlantic Ocean, they offer our students beautiful nature trails, bike paths and other outdoor activities.

Festivals
Boca Raton hosts a variety of fun events throughout the year including the "meet Me Downtown" festival, Boca Expo, a Holiday Boat Parade, and regular indoor/outdoor concerts by the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra. Festivities are also held in honor of St. Patrick's day, Easter, the 4th of July, Halloween and Christmas.

Social Activities and Excursions
Students can take the Tri-Rail at a near-by station for the cost of $3.00 and can "shop till they drop" at Miami's spectacular Bayside Marketplace or they can "wheel and deal" at area flea markets. Other exciting places to visit include Sawgrass Mills and other shopping malls, the many attractions in Ft. Lauderdale, Mizner Park which houses the famous International Museum for Cartoon Art, Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, the Morikami Museum, Cape Kennedy, St. Augustine (the oldest city in the United States), Key West, cruises to the Bahamas, airboat rides in Florida's Everglades, Walt Disney World and much more! History
Originally populated by Indians, the city was formed from portions of different counties in 1915. At the end of World War II, thousands of servicemen and their families settled in the area, creating the beginning of a development boom. Major infrastructure and corporate investments in the past decades, including international airport and seaport facilities, have contributed to the growth and development of Fort Lauderdale.

Beach and sun lovers can enjoy scuba diving, snorkeling, wind surfing, water skiing and kayaking which are activities all within walking distance from our school. Bicycle and in-line skating paths along the beach greatly contribute to the enjoyment of this beautiful city. Tennis, golf, airboat rides, fishing and horseback riding provide additional leisure time activities in lovely surroundings. Broward County, where Fort Lauderdale is located, has 288 parks, three natural reefs, and the Everglades National Park with 750,000 acres of unspoiled land.

Some of the exciting activities include the Downtown Festival of Arts, Week of the Ocean, Honda Golf Classic, The International Boat Show and SandBlast Celebration.
