Reaching Higher Academy is an intensive ESL (English as a Second Language) learning academy that not only prepares the student through inductive language training, but through cultural immersion as well. Our students do not simply learn English, they live English.

Our students are equipped to become proficient in the English language in as little as three months and usually no longer than six. Classroom sessions are five days a week, and are enhanced with real-life, practical excursions. These excursions allow the students to practice their English in real world situations.

Students come to Reaching Higher Academy to learn ... and to have fun in the process. Our well-rounded approach has proven extremely successful.

Intimate to our program of Cultural Immersion is the housing of our students with American families. This allows our students to interact in the formalities of American life and to experience first-hand the best of what the United States of America has to offer. Each family has been carefully screened and must meet a series of criteria in order to house a Reaching Higher Academy student. This insures that our students are in an educational and safe environment at all times.

Reaching Higher Academy was birthed with the idea of providing the finest quality education possible for foriegn nationals. This idea later gave birth to the idea of Cultural Immersion as a method of accomplishing this goal. Our student, in addition to being in the classroom five days a week, take trips throughout beautiful Southern California and live with American Host Families. Some of our excursions include Yosemite National Forest, Disneyland, Hollywood, Museum of Science and Industry, and Santa Monica Beach. Once per quarter our students enjoy a shopping trip to outlet stores, enabling them to practice what they have learned in their lessons on commerce and finances.

No matter what is on the agenda, Reaching Higher Academy keeps the education, edification, and enjoyment of the students as its primary goal.

Reaching Higher Academy is located in the High Desert of Southern California. The city of Palmdale is situated approximately seventy miles North of Los Angeles. Our facility is a six thousand square foot building renovated for use as an educational academy. Complete with a kitchen area, several offices, a reception area, and classrooms suitable for up to 30 students, it is a complete educational facility. We do not enroll more than 30 students at a time as to keep the teacher/student ratio low. This maximizes the student's ability to learn, and minimizes the load placed upon our instructors.
