English Programs - ESL
We offer 8 levels of English as a Second Language from basic to high-advanced as well as Business English programs. On the first day of school our trained staff will assess your English level (grammar skills and oral skills) and place you in an appropriate class. Classes are as follows:

Integrated Skills - These morning classes combine practical communication opportunities with effective skill building exercises. You will also: Practice listening and speaking with trips, interviews and guest speakers, work with classmates on group presentations and projects, develop grammar and vocabulary through modern textbook study and online resources and experience using your new english in real-life situations through community assignments.

Focused Skills - In these afternoon classes, your teachers focus on helping you to concentrate on specific language skills. You will also have intensive, interactive practice sessions everyday to improve comprehension in the following areas: Pronunciation and accent reduction, vocabulary, idioms and expressions, listening and speaking for accuracy, conversation for fluency and discussion and writing skills.

Elective Classes - This is a great way to complement your regular English studies while exploring other topics in a variety of special-interest elective classes. Electives offer study in areas such as: short stories, reading and writing, Canadian culture, music, movies and television, Business English and more. Classes change regularly.

Staff Profiles:
Archer College Hamilton boasts a staff with a wide range of experience. Instructors have taught in such places as Asia, Africa and across Europe. Staff can speak several different languages including French, German and Spanish.
