Edutainment & ESL Games - How To Create A Buzz For Your ESL Class
By:Matt Tamsczak

When I first started teaching English as a Second Language Overseas I struggled...

I struggled a lot; and nobody would really help me. My boss would tell me to teach the class, "WITH ENERGY!"

My co-teachers showed me how to play some ESL games which the students absolutely dreaded... and worst of all I had paid so much money for my University degree, then for a plane ticket to Japan...and for this?

I had spent the last four years of my life studying like a madman only to get the job which I thought would be amazing... but at first was horrible.

I hadn't got fired from my English teaching job, but I knew that if I didn't find a way to effectively teach my students that I would be fired.

I was able to teach the material from the book; but the students were lifeless and I knew that this was not want I wanted to do for my career.

I wanted to be happy when I thought about my work, and I wanted my students to be happy when they thought about our class.

So I started to search on the internet for Teaching English Strategies, Teaching English Tips, etc., but I couldn't find what I was looking for.

I didn't need to discipline my class like these websites were preaching. What I needed was a way to install fun and excitement into my class.

Luckily, I met an ESL teacher at the night market. He talked the talk, and he looked successful due to the amount of money he was throwing around, the car he drove, the clothes that he wore, etc. He told me that the old way of teaching was dead. And the new way of teaching ESL is by using Edutainment.

Edutainment is a form of teaching that incorporates teaching and entertainment.

And the theory behind "Edutainment," is that if you can make your students happy; as well as teach them at the same time... you will create a buzz about your class. The more buzz that you have for your class, the more students will join; the more students that join, the more money you will make!

If you would like to learn how to how to create a Buzz for your Class? If you would then go to... ESL TEACHING GAMES
