Teaching is a profession where your learning never stops, in fact it enhances with the passage of time. Teaching today has acquired the form of a complete source of gaining knowledge. Now a teacher has to keep her or himself updated in terms of the subject knowledge she/he claims to be a master of. They go to libraries to read reference books and other related material. Internet is also used by them as a tool for elaborating their learning skills. They keep themselves acquainted with modern researches made in the faculty of their concerned subjects. Some really dedicated teachers even attend seminars and conferences meant to increase their knowledge and skills in their specific subject.

Apart from this teaching plays the leading role in the personality grooming of a teacher. It is believed that a teacher is a role model for students. keeping this in mind a teacher always tries to achieve the highest standards of moral and ethical values. They want to inculcate commendable habits among their students and for this they first transform themselves.

They depict a highly refined and sophisticated demeanor. They are courteous and well-mannered. They display an extolling social behaviour. The benefits of being a teacher is not only specified to adoption of good manners and attitude, but it affects the overall personality and life style of a teacher. They know the art of facing the challenges of life. They have to deal with students of diverse temperament, some being rowdy, hypered, timid and shy. They learn human psychology and handle these students accordingly. They have patience and forbearance to tackle any situation skilfully. They become flexible and develop the ability of adapting themselves to changing environment and atmosphere.

A teacher is assumed to be a great actor as well. At times they have to adopt the role of a mother, father, brother, sister, friend, guide and mentor. This also has a pleasant effect not only on the student's personality, but also on their personality as they become conscious about the brought up of their students like a father, loving like a mother, caring like a sister, protective like a brother, sharing like a friend, leading like a guide and counselling like a mentor.

Good teachers always strive hard to prove their worth and this creates a sense of competition among them. They try to build up the character and personality of their students in the most desirable manner. They produce the best and go for perfection in everything they undertake. Thus being a teacher one avails of numerous benefits. He/She becomes an admirable person who gets the affection of all.
