Our Best Hope - Great Teachers
By:Larry Icabandi Nabiong

Without somebody who can make us feel safe, confident and competent in life, we are at a loss. We really need someone--a mature guide-- to help us realize our own dreams, and believe in us as well.

Our teachers, some were our favorites when we were still in the grade school, others were our high school mentors... they have served us our guides in trudging the path towards success.

How many great teachers can you still remember? One, two or more... Well, with their good intentions during your crucial adolescent stage, they had been your saviors. Remember the time when your mother had been scolding you ( for the nth time ) in front of your classmates due to some misdemeanors... and your great teacher was there acting as if,-- he was your lawyer --defending you. Yes, of course, you could not forget this. And, whenever you've got a problem, you quickly remember him. Right?

Great as he is, you would also want to be like him. You also want to do great task to your fellow learners: be it in your workplace, school, organization, etc.

Such benevolence coming from him, would last a lifetime; giving you the strength to keep on doing good to your immediate family, friends, and --sometimes-- strangers. Yes, the desire to effect positive influence to others would definitely create a better world. A world where each one of us is vital influence to one another. Doing such thing could really give us positive feeling of fulfillment. A different high.

Blessed are those who know how to do good. They are our best hopes. Yes, the world needs them. We need best people to help us grow, go and glow.

We need to grow; in spirit, where emotion is controlled, especially negative ones. We need to go; taking challenges--facing problems. We need to glow; making others get something positive from us-- be it courage to keep on weathering the storm, the spirit to face trials and tribulations, etc.

Well, rejoice every time you encounter a test and your great teacher comes to mind in an instant. Apply the wisdom you have learned from him, and you'll in your way acing it out.
