make classroom safer
By:jon

Since people often don't pay attention to the exit maps, I would start by making sure there is an inspected, charged and functioning fire extinguisher. I would also make sure that all exit routes are clear and accessible. The room would be much safer at that point, however it would still not be in compliance with fire safety regs so the next step would be to replace the outdated exit maps to show clearly the exit routes from the building. They don't necessarily have to show the lay out of the room, but they do have to show exit routes. (The children should also be taught fire safety lessons on a regular basis, and fire drills should be practiced at various times of the day using a variety of exit patterns on a monthly basis.)
